INFORMATION ABOUT THE MODEL
Despite high losses, the DB still had a sizeable stock of standard branch line cars and the sidecars derived from them. As before the war, most of them were deployed between Freiburg, Neustadt and Seebrugg. Otherwise, passenger coaches usually ran as one-offs in the other directorates. The sidecars often ran behind combustion railcars with ETA, so the DB converted most of them into control cars. However, there were still vehicles that could only be used as sidecars, and some control cars for combustion railcars. For them, the BD Nuremberg remained an Eldorado in the 1950s. On numerous main and branch lines, VT of the pre-war types with VB and VS ensured cost-effective operation before they were supplanted by the savior of the branch lines - the rail bus.
