The Yak-40 is the world's first three-engine turbojet passenger aircraft for local airlines with a length of up to 1,500 km. The aircraft was developed in the Yakovlev Design Bureau in 1964. The first flight took place on October 21, 1966. Cruising speed - 510 km / h. The Yak-40 became the first Soviet-made aircraft to receive an airworthiness certificate in Western Europe. The production of the Yak-40 continued from 1966 to 1981, a total of 1012 aircraft were produced, of which 125 were exported to 18 countries of the world.
