1:700 Gearing-Class Destroyers USS DD-743 Southerland 1944 (Full Hull)
The Gearing-class destroyer is the class of a US Navy destroyer. It is an improved version of the Fletcher-class destroyer, Allen M. Sumner-class, with enhanced cruising performance, and the final development of the Fletcher-class. Commissioned in March 1945, initially 152 ships were planned to be built, but only 98 were produced due to the end of World War II. Most of the ships were commissioned after the war, and were enrolled in the US Navy while undergoing renovations until the 1970s. Since then, it has been widely provided and sold to Western countries, and the last ship was retired in 2014. USS Sutherland DD-743 was laid down in 1944, and in 1964, it was refurbished with a focus on improving anti-submarine warfare capabilities based on FRAM (Fleet Rehabilitation and Modernization), and was removed from the register in 1981.
