1:72 Type 2 Ho-I Japanese Medium Tank
Type 2 Ho-I was a Japanese Infantry Support Tank built on the Type 1 Chi-He chassis, armed with a 75mm mountain gun. The works on this design started in 1939, initially, the tank was supposed to be based on Type 97 chassis, but the tests and preparations for production took longer than anticipated. By the time the Type 2 was ready for production the Type 1 tank was already available and was used as a base for new the Infantry Support Tank. The production was delayed further by the need to upgrade the gun to be able to use AP ammunition, needed to fight the Sherman tanks in the Pacific theatre. Only around 30 of these tanks were produced (the exact number is unknown), all of them were given to Japanese Home Islands defense units and never left Japan.
