1:35 VCL Light Amphibious Tank A4E12 (Royal Netherlands East Indies Army)

The Vickers-Carden-Loyd Light Amphibious Tank (also known as A4E11 or A4E12) was a British light amphibious tank from the interwar period. The first prototypes of the vehicle were created at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s, and serial production was carried out in the period 1931-1932. The tank was powered by a single Meadows 90hp engine. It was armed with a single 7.7mm Vickers machine gun in a rotating turret.

The A4E11 / 12 was developed by the Vickers-Carden-Loyd concern, initially as an experimental vehicle to test the possibilities of developing an amphibious tank. From the very beginning, it was not intended for service in the British Army, but was dedicated to export markets. The concern's idea came true and several foreign buyers interested in the construction appeared, which led to the launch of a small series production. The vehicle was purchased by China, Thailand and the Netherlands. The tank was also purchased by the USSR, which, based on the chassis of the A4E11 / 12, created its own vehicle - the T-37A. The British structure also inspired Polish constructors to build PZInż.130.
