1:700 Japanese Navy Destroyer Shimakaze - Water Line Series
She was completed in May 1943 as a cutting-edge destroyer to carry the next generation of the Japanese Navy, and recorded a test speed of 40.9 knots, the fastest for a Japanese ship at the time. Furthermore, it is a plastic model assembly kit of Shimakaze that boasts high attack power and is equipped with three 12.7cm twin guns and three five-tube torpedo tubes. In pursuit of high speed, the slim hull is split into left and right parts, with the upper deck being a separate part. The overboard electrical circuit on the side of the hull and the molding on the top of the deck that represent anti-slip and anchor chains enhance the sense of density of the finished product. The 12.7cm twin gun uses a slide mold to reproduce the carving on the side. In addition, the five torpedo tubes and main gun can be rotated using polycaps. The area around the bridge equipped with a windshield fence and the masts are also precisely finished. In addition to the military flag sheet, decals are also available for the linoleum deck. The kit reproduces its final appearance (around November 1944). An offshore model with the hull cut below the waterline.
★Total length when completed: 185mm
