1:35 Skoda RSO-Radschlepper Ost

The Skoda RSO (other designations: Radschlepper OST or Skoda 175) is a German wheeled artillery tractor from the Second World War. The first copies of this vehicle appeared in 1941, and serial production continued in 1942-1944. About 200-210 vehicles of this type were created in its course. The vehicle was powered by a 90 HP 4-cylinder engine.

The Skoda RSO was designed by Ferdinand Porsche as a heavy artillery tractor for German troops preparing for the invasion of the USSR, and from June 1941, already fighting in that country. Despite careful design and relatively long research and development work for this vehicle class, the Skoda RSO was not a successful vehicle. It was characterized by too much weight, huge fuel consumption, very low top speed, and most of all - it was very bad at difficult terrain. Despite these disadvantages, its production was carried out in the years 1942-1944 at the Skoda plant in Mlada Boleslalav. Paradoxically - almost certainly none of the tractors of this type served on the Eastern Front, and all the models built fought in Normandy, Northern France and the Netherlands in 1944-1945.
