The vehicles are specially designed for transporting moisture-sensitive bulk goods such as lime and carbide. They were used by the DR in the conurbations of the chemical industry in the former GDR and are still used today on DB AG rails in the Harz, Frankfurt/Main and Ludwigshafen areas.
The 3 buckets can be removed from the chassis.
