Only sleepers (no rails) to be pushed onto the flex track in order to get a good connection from the flex track to other tracks.
An alternative, inexpensive and weather-resistant alternative to wooden sleepers was sought early on. Very good experience has been gained with concrete sleepers and so concrete sleepers, sometimes in combination with wooden and steel sleepers, were quickly found on many types of routes. Concrete sleepers are the standard for modern railways.
